Chicago


Michigan Avenue is a major north-south street in Chicago. As the home of the Chicago Water Tower, the Art Institute of Chicago, Millennium Park, and the Magnificent Mile, it is a street well known to Chicago natives as well as tourists to the city. Michigan Avenue also is the main commercial street of Streeterville. It includes all of the Michigan Boulevard Historic District and most of the Michigan--Wacker Historic District, including the scenic urban space anchored by the Michigan Avenue Bridge.

November 4th, 2008: Victory Speech at Grant Park

President-elect Barack Obama spoke to the world from his home city of Chicago as he became the first black president of the United States. The place choosed was Grant Park.
2002: Barack Obama First Speech

Obama's family house is located in Kenwood, Hyde Park, Chicago. It is a gorgeous Georgian revival. Barack and Michelle bought this house in 2007.

This is the Barack Obama hair saloon. Situated in Hyde Park, near the Obama's house the president used to come here to get his haircut.

Barack and Michelle Obama were married on October 3, 1992 by Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Illinois.

Michelle Obama's house

Michelle Obama grew up at 7436 South Euclid Avenue and she lived here until she married Barack Obama. She grew up in this two-story house on Euclid Street in Chicago's South Shore community area. Her parents rented a small apartment on the house's second floor from her great-aunt, who lived downstairs.
